Faculty Application to Liberal Arts Gateway

Philosophy, Religion, & Humanities

**ACC Email Address Required **

Composition & Literary Studies LAG course proposals are accepted between mid-March and early June. Applicants will be notified in August before the start of the fall semester. Please email a letter of interest to LAG Chair Brinda Roy (broy@austincc.edu) explaining the course you would like to design and how it addresses LAG Guidelines and Practices.

Accepted professors will join a cohort of CLS faculty called a Community of Practice. Working with your colleagues, you will familiarize yourself with the Liberal Arts Gateway philosophy, attend three meetings per semester, engage in peer-to-peer observations, and redesign your course over two semesters. At the end of the course redesign process, you will submit a reflection, a course description, and an assignment/class activity that aligns with the Liberal Arts Gateway disciplinary toolkit. Please see an example here: Sample Course Deliverables. In addition, you will be certified as a Liberal Arts Gateway course professor, and your course will appear on the course schedule with your unique title. You will also be given professional development credit and a stipend. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact Chris Berni.
